Tangerine Tornados

philrezin1 Jun 10, 2008 08:53 PM

Probably going to get back in leopard geckos and am probably going to get some 5 star urban gecko Tangerine tornados. Was just wondering what you guys thought about the demand for these right now? Also anything cool I could do with a female of a different morph in addition to the 1.2 group of Tangerine tornados? Thanks in advance! Phil Rezin

Nice hypo tangerines are always popular and have had the most consistent market value. Outcrossing the tangerines that have taken years to refine color will dilute their appearance but if you must, please make super giant tangerine tornadoes

Outcross them? I have a 1.2 all tornados so I shouldn't dilute anything, and nearly 100% carrottails also on all parents

You definitely have room for a couple more females in your group so i would add if you want. When you are buying the highest end tangerines the resulting offspring of your 1.2 will probably be of more value than the offspring of any other female you could add. You can do all sorts of stuff if you add an albino or a patternless albino or a giant etc. but it might be a better idea to find an unrelated female(or 2) high quality tangerine to further the selective breeding process of tangerines. Those screaming tangerines are a result of breeding the best tangerine to the best to the best to the best, outcrossing to other mutations to make sunglows for example along the way but never stopping the progressive line of nicer tangerines. You probably understand how the genetics work if your buying that high end stuff. That line of tangerines make some pretty outrageous stuff! good luck
