Baby Canary Chondros on the Way?

KelliH Jun 10, 2008 11:35 PM

Just wanted to post an update on the pair of Canary Chondros that we purchased last year. The male was called "Gold Standard" and the female was called "Buttercups" by the person who originally imported them in 2005. Kelli and I purchased the pair last year and I think that she is gravid now. There was a lot of copulation early in the year; she has ovulated and gone through her pre-ovulation shed; she is off feed; thermoregulating and I am now waiting on the pre-egglaying shed.

Boy are we excited! This would be a great boost for my ego to get a clutch of baby Canary Chondros later this year.

Anyway, here are some pics. Gold Standard is first and Buttercups is second. Let us know what you think.

Thanks for looking!

Steve Hammack

Congrats, Steve! That's a fine-looking animal, and if any locality can be called "the locale of the future" in GTPs, then the Canary animals are it!

I have a Wamena that just went through the prelay shed. Exciting times, huh? The dad is the "Aru Type" pictured below.
