Housing a male leo with a tremper giant

usfbull99 Jun 12, 2008 10:46 PM

Hi,

I am in the process of purchasing a female mate for my male leo. I am not sure as to his age but i am confident he is in the 7 to 9 month of age. He is 67 grams and i measure him at 9 inches. I wanted to know if its ok to house a Tremper giant female with my male ?

Is a 40 gallon enclosure good for the both of them ?

Also if i put them at least 2 hides each with a humid hid that would be beneficial?

In that size home you could add 3-4 females for him. Just remember that if you house a male with females they will breed. As for the hides they only need one of each but if you have the extra room it won't hurt as for beneficial that I'm not sure of that.I have 1 male and 3 females in a 20 gallon and they all like to snuggle together.

I am housing an adult(70gm) male with a 100gm super giant female. Never been a problem for me and the female layed fertile eggs all year long
