Some Special Females

StickyTongues Jun 13, 2008 01:47 PM

Here are some of my special females that are near and dear to my heart. I've raised these girls from hatchlings 4+ years ago and all but one of these girls are virgins. The first girl is the melanistic girl that gets darker and darker as she ages. IMG maybe? I'm hoping to one day breed her to a het lav to produce some dark hets poss het lavs and one day make a killer lav albino. Ah that would be the day. LOL.

The second female is my high contrast albino 66% het VPI axanthic. I'm hoping to prove her out this year once I save up enough money for either a DH snow male or an axanthic poss het snow male. I took a pic of her and the mel together so you can get an idea of how dark the mel girl is.

The third girl is my here's hoping she proves out type. She has the cinny pattern with the side blushing and the faded brown head but no cinny belly pattern. Chocolate maybe? We'll find out in 30 days. This was my first year breeding her and she was bred to my best male blonde pastel who is amazingly still light yellow as a 4 year old male.

Last but not least is my son Max who thinks he's a duck in this pic. Where do kids learn these things? LOL. Thanks for looking.

Thanks! I hope she proves out when I go breed her. Mix her in with some albinos. Are there any proven mel or IMG lines out there?

We sold a co-dom banded dark morph male that produced co-dom banded dark morph babies when bred to a normal, and a dark morph het pied female that was from a dark morph female x male pied, so some lines are genetic, some are not.

Good luck with her, we are working with a big group of dark morph animals, I love how they get darker with age.

Do you have any pics of your dark morphs to share? I would love to see some.
