Interesting Bumble Bee!

norajohn Jun 13, 2008 02:55 PM

Just a few hours old from a het ghost bumble bee male to an orange ghost female. In the clutch are one honey bee, one ghost, one spider, one bumble bee ghost, one normal het ghost, one pastel het ghost, and this paradox. Amazing variety in one clutch!

Thanks for looking,
John Manser

Very nice! I'd hold onto that one if I was you. I love anything paradox. It makes each one so unique.

Up until now, I haven’t typically cared for the paradox on anything except TSK Party Ball, but that thing is pretty bizarre looking. The spider pattern looks reduced and almost banded too. Too cool!
Congratulations!

WICKED BEE!..and that had to be a fun clutch to watch hatch out!..Anything "paradox" is fantastic to have..Would be great to figure out how to reproduce the effect on cue!

with paradox? I have seen it in albinos and now this bumblebee. Is it still considered a random "anomally" that is not genetic?

Great snake

So far I think it is random, but maybe others have more information. I do know it pops up in ghost genetics, such as a white snake being paradox when two het ghost mojaves are bred together. It is a strange thing.

any chance it could be caused by something in incubation(temp spike, humidity issue, etc.)?

I don't think it is. My temps and moisture were perfect.

Thanks everyone. I think one of the best things is all the variety in a clutch of 7 eggs. I will post more pictures after shed.
