Got my New Rack today....

Bighurt Jun 13, 2008 07:19 PM

Got my New ARS rack which is awesome so I thought I would share some pictures.

Also since Dave bugged me weeks ago and since he already posted images of his Room "Full" I though to add mine.

Please keep in mind that the room is not just for Reptiles, Sherwood Forest takes up the other half.

Thanks for Looking. And Yes I know its a Mess, but the cages are clean!

Any and all comments are welcome

After a week of use or so the rack is up and running with inhabitents and all.

Overall very impressed.

The tubs are very sturdy and extreamly thick, there are no worries about cracking these. My old 41qt rack which started at 10 spares ended its life at 7 tubs.

Heating is great. I went with the E series 6" upgrade forr all my levels and glad I did. Combined with the Herpstat ND that was included in the rack I am getting great heat. Although I have yet to test the AMP draw to see how efficient this unit is over my last.

**Note the 7030 and 8018 tubs are made of different material I noticed they heat differently and therfore achieve different overall temps. Some amount on tinkering was needed to achieve satisfactory heat throughout the rack**

The built in water bowls capable of excepting a 16 oz deli cup are a great feature. Although my boas seldom deficate in their water supply when they do the ewase of disposable liner will be a plus.

**Note I use paper lined cages at present, with the built in bowl feature it takes and additional minute to clean the cage, due to the required hole in the paper. I have been considering useing shredded aspen for bedding however it is rather difficult finding a dealer of cheap aspen this far north**

All in all the rack fit perfect. The end walls for my room are slightly over the racks deapth of 34". My careful calculations also came in handy as the 9 high rack comes about 3" from the ceiling short enough to clear the lights if necesary. Unfortunatly the 34" deapth prevents the cage from ever rolling out of the room who's doors are 30". But the rack unstacked and stacked very easily so there should be no problem doing so again.

I have been very impressed with the quality of the product and the customer service I recieved from ARS in general. I hope in the future they will help provide another rack perhaps a hatchling rack.

Cheers
