im thinking about breeding some of them for my balls that really dont eat well. does anyone have good or bad to say about there experiences with these rats? i mean they seem like a good thing they dont smell bad and balls love them? thanks for any posts.

I use them for my pieds whenever they refuse a normal rat. I use frozen thawed, the feeding response is crazy.

the benfits far outweigh the negatives IMO.just make sure you have some long hemos with rubber tips.

I just started up breeding ASF's. The first litter had 10 babies in it! My Picky Ball loves them. just watch out.. the ASF's have attitude!

There a great alternative. As far as attitude I have never had any problem with mine at all.

I too have never had a problem w/attitude! I've found that they breed exceptionally well when I suppliment their food w/sweet potatos and carrots!

thats what worries me there attitude is it toward the snakes as well? i would be worried them attacking my balls?? thanks for your help.

If you are worried about attitude...just use frozen thawed ASF...they work great too.
For a snake that can be reluctant to feed....I love ASF rats.
Some people have told me that they were afraid their snake would become addicted to the ASF....but instead we have used the ASF to get a reluctant feeder back on a feeding cycle...and then gave it a domestic rat....works like a charm!
I love using the thawed ASF!
