PLEASE HELP ME!!!

crotalusfan Jun 13, 2008 09:16 PM

I have asked some other people and gotten no real help. I spend a great deal of time on this forum, so I know a lot of you post pics pretty frequently. My question is... how? I tried to upload the pics to KS, but they were too large. I was told to try photobucket where they could be automatically resized. I did that and got my pics resized. But now when I try to put the pics on my posts, they come out as a red x. Please help. And sorry for posting this here.

1. Crop/resize the image on your computer before uploading it anywhere. This can be done even with simple programs like MS Paint.

2. Go to ImageShack and upload the image (it needs to be under 1.5mb). ImageShack is good because you don't have to create an account and organize photo albums and all that stuff.

3. After uploading it, copy the URL of the image (it will be in the bottom box labled "Direct link to image") and paste it in the Kingsnake "Post Reply" box where you enter the message.

4. Then put image tags around it - [img] goes in front of the URL and [/img] goes behind it, so the whole thing looks something like this:

Go to Photobucket, click the IMG code box, it will say "copied", go to your message and click "paste"

I'll just add that when you go to the little "Image URL" box below the text field, make sure you RIGHT click inside it to bring up the text that says "Paste" then click on that,...and Bingo!...hit the "Post Message" button as you normally would.

Now for posting multiple images from Photobucket,...again, go below the pic you want to post and left click on the gray text that says "IMG Code", it will flash "copied" in yellow. Then go to KS forum and put your cursor where you wish to dislay the photo INSIDE THE TEXT FIELD that you normally type posts in and RIGHT click and hit "Paste" when it pos up. You can continue to do this with numerous pics underneath each other, you can even leave a space between photos to type text that refers to the photos if you want to. disregard all the text lingo nonsense in the text field, as when you're all done and hit the "Post Message" button, it will magically become pictures!

Also, use your "Preview Message" button to prevent silly mistakes that we've all seen here until you're sure you got the hang of it.......done deal!

hope this helps out,....it's very easy,....once you get the hang of it.
