Spiny -- they don't get as huge as the Florida softies.

I would suggest neither if you're looking for a "pet". I find that my floridas are alot more placid when out of water than my spiny, so you may want to take that into account.

You're 100% right Matt. They are ornery as a general rule and more of a "to look at" kind of pet.
My preference is still a spiny because of the size thing. A Florida softie is wonderful but keeping them indoors (females especially) might become problematic once they reach adult size).
