bugs in the stick

dantak Jun 14, 2008 09:53 AM

okay, this isnt really a question about live plants per se. I finally found a good stick for my kingsnake's terrarium(pine) and after I placed it in the tank, I noticed little piles of sawdust showing up everywhere. So there are probably bugs in the stick, so I took it right out. My question is, can I do anything about this? I would really rather not buy a fake stick but if this is the only way to avoid bugs then I guess I have no choice.

Try wrapping the stick in tin foil and cooking it in the oven at 250 degrees for an hour. Its not hot enough to burn the stick but it should kill any bugs.

Great...thanx sean...i actually thought about baking it but didn't think of the foil to keep it from burning. I will try it
