Help! One of my russians has a swollen eye, I attached a picture the other eye is wide open. She is an inside tortoise and I havent taken her outside in a few weeks. Her other eye is perfectly fine. She ate yesterday, but not as much as normal. I have not yet attempted to feed her today. What can I do? Please help!

Though I am sure there are other people who will have some things you can do till you can take it there. Don't waste your money on a vet that rarely sees reptiles

She ate a little today so I was hoping it was something I could take care of on my own. If it gets worse I was gonna take her to my vet, but i was hoping there was another solution in the mean time, but thanks anyway!

I am concerned because her eye is swollen. I guess in the picture it may be hard to tell, but if you were to see her other eye you would notice swelling. She does open the swollen eye and she ate yesterday so im not too concerned, but how can i get the swelling down?

I am in no way an expert but an idea came to me... what substrate are you using for the tortoise? I have heard that specific substrates can cause eye irritation and actually damage the eye. Just a possibility I thought I would raise.
