Night heat???

cali_bear86 Jun 15, 2008 08:05 PM

I use the red, night heat bulbs for my beardies. Any opinions on these things? I would rather not use them so that it gets completely dark in their cages at night, but the temps get down to 75 at night...would this be ok, or should I continue to use them?

no need for night heat. temps can drop as low as 60-65 with no problem at night. i turn all lights out at night, 12 hrs on 12 hrs off

Thanks for the info....what about baby beardies....are they safe with such low temps at night?

If your house temps don't drop below 65F, you don't need any additional heat at night. Babies are fine as well but best to make sure they don't get exposed to temps as low as 60F..but are fine with anything 65F or above at night.
