More caudo stuff- lots of pics

Neal_ Jun 15, 2008 10:42 PM

I thought I’d also share some recent pics of the first clutch that hatched this spring. They’re about 3.5 month old. They have been growing up fast. I’m going to move them into a tall cage that is quite a bit different than the trough that their parents are in.

I think these two are a pair, judging from their behavior as well as some sublte differences in head shape, hue of the dorsal spots, etc. I'm just guessing though.

The above pics are in chronological order and were taken over a couple hours. They held each of those positions for a little while. Just so there isn’t any confusion, I am merely describing what I observed. Not trying to prove anything about varanids here. I am simply sharing some pics of my lizards.

Please excuse the crappiness of these last pics. They are taken through glass and I’m trying to light the monitor up with a led flashlight.

It is really a trip how these little guys sleep on their backs. Feet aren’t even touching the board above. My wife could hardly believe this one wasn’t dead. Nope, just zonked out.

Thanks for sharing Neal. I can't wait to have some caudos in my collection.

Are those the same tanks you use for storri raise-up...just with cork on the sides?

Thanks Daniel. Yes, for the baby caudos I have attached some cork with spray adhesive and furnished the tanks a little differently.

I’m sure some folks don’t know what we’re talking about. Here’s the storri hatchling setups.
