Pics of our first hatchlings and parents

PiedPeddler Sep 01, 2003 07:33 PM

The parents were quite differently patterned, the female is kind of busy patterned and beige, while the male is mostly banded and deeper tan. I've been anxious to see how the babies would turn out...

And here's the clutch of six, 100% hatch from first time breeders, including myself! The babies are kind of an amalgamation of patterns and colors of the parents, weighing in at 80g each. I only popped one male, but there were tiny flakes of vermiculite in some of the cloacas complicating things. I might try again after they shed, next time with running water available. Or for $3.00 each, get them probed at our local reptile shop. Thanks for the replies on "popping" and for all the help along the way. This forum is AWESOME!!!
Thanks for viewing.

Thats a pretty good clutch for a first attempt! Some lovely healthy babies you have there. Good luck with them in the future.

I am working on getting ready for breeding and I was hopeful that I could start this year, but it looks like I will be waiting one more year, although that isn't so bad as I can learn more and be more prepared. I guess I need a female too, that might help! LOL I have 1.4 normals and 1.0 het albino, but only the 1.0 normal is up to size and I don't have the money yet to get a girlfriend for him, I have been working on setting up the room and working on other things for my other animals and everything so I have been really buisy, as you have seen I haven't been posting much. But I am working on woodworking and going to make some money from that hopefully, I start a project today actually and I think all the profit is going to the Chicago show with me in October! LOL I am saving all I can to go, it will be my first show and you bet I am saving money and disks for my digi-cam! I am so excited! I get to meet some of the best there and I really want to see everytrhing there! Well congrats again and I hope I am as lucky (or skilled) as you were on you first clutch! Thanks for the awesome pics! And thanks for the encouragement for us newbies!
