another look at "anery" (hypoerythristic) pyros

I hatched two of these from the wild caught male ric blair owned for a number of years...actually, from a pair of hets produced by that male.

There's room for improvement--the first two babies have a lot of crossovers. But they proved the trait was genetic. And imagine this color shift on an albino, or on an applegate special. Plus they open the door to production of ghost and snow pyros. So--as my friends in the UK say--we're chuffed!

I'll try to get another pic of one of them with their normal (possible het) sibling, to show the contrast.

Cool pyros, but the black crossovers are typical of most Arizona locales (which you already knew LOL) and when you produce those snows, etc.. the heavy black (normals) might look neat when they are snows, etc...

True. that's what makes these projects so interesting: we get to do all the theorizing & speculating and hypothesizing and THEN we have the fun of seeing what REALLY happens, and there are always surprises.

Very nice . I hope all these new pyro color morphes respark interest ,much like the Honduran morphes did. Pyros are my favorite kingsnake it to bad interest/market is down right now but their is hope for the future .
