GIVE US SOME FEEDBACK ON THIS...

Several years ago we bought a group of boas from a woman in Austria. She sold them to us as an unknown type of "hypo" that she produced from two normal boas. When we received the boas we were more than disappointed because it appeared that all we got were some Hogg Island boas. In fact, months after that a gentleman in Germany contacted us about his "T+ Honduran boas" and after getting his pics we were even more unsettled because they were the exact same pics we received on the boas from Austria. He promised that the pics were his and she was mis-representing her animals. The whole thing was disappointing and many times we strongly considered wholesaling the group and cutting our losses. Its a good thing we did not!1

This season I decided to pair the nicest male with the least attractive female just to see what happens. The litter arrived several weeks ago and while we still are not sure what we have, we realize now that something is going on with them. We got 13 babies and 7 of them look "hypo" or "T+" and 6 of them look normal. The first two pics are of two from the litter and the third photo is one of the unique ones next to a T+ Nic.

So what do you think we have here? There are both hypo characteristics and T+ characteristics. We are leaning towards one theory but want to hear your thoughts on this project! If any of you have alot of experience with Hondurans, please comment!

Thank you much,
John

But I do have a pretty large group of Nic boas and those those things dont like like any Hypo Nic I have ever seen.......super or regular hypo........Id lean towards T plus on them.......very very very similar to the T plus Nic......minus the darker black tail bands.

What do you thin it is?

By the way........how do you get the plus symbol to show up in the posts?

Hondurans but they sure haven't looked like that guy!

I would think the hypo would have more pigment, letting more darker colors cover the snake... pattern is more dense, not as clean.
I would lean more towards T , unless it's some super form of hypo which works recessively.. ?!?!

Either way, congrats! I love Hondos!

The mutation doesnt seem to affect pattern at all. Correct me if i am wrong but so far there arent any dominant/co-dom. mutations in boas that only affect color, not pattern, right? If you bred the nicest one to the darkest one i'll bet the light one was homozygous and and the dark one was non visual heterozygous(assuming the parents were littermates) explaining the 50/50 odds. Were the parents babies that looked like those when you first got them? Can we see pics of the parents now to see what they will end up looking like? Congrats on the new cool project by the way!

What is the definitive difference between any
of the known Central American BCI ssp ?
Most all share likeness's of one respect or another.
Hondurans are no different then the others marketed under the label Corn Island, each has 3-4 distinct adult phases they attain which very closely reassembles the ones known as Nicuraguan's
Is there really enough to allow the T label?

Cool animals no doubt,very pretty.
What do the littermates look like ? Any of them high peaked like a Costa Rican ?
