WTHS/AHS Combined Field Trip

JediKnight1971 Jun 18, 2008 02:03 PM

Here are a few photos of animals seen while on the WTHS/AHS 7th annual Field Trip...

Habitat:

A cool arachnid:

A few amphibs:
Bufo speciosus:

S. couchii:

A couple of lizards:
Cnemidophorus "something-or-other":

Sceloporus poinsetti:

My favorite lizard from this part of the trip:
Holbrookia maculata:

Lil suckers blend in well:

And rush into Prairie Dog burrows when approached:

And of course, the snakes.
Here are a couple of DOR animals (again, more Wildlife Sanctuary!):

Salvadora grahamiae:

Lampropeltis alterna:

And then, some live stuff:

Lampropeltis getula:

Pituophis catenifer:

Sonora semiannualta:

Crotalus molossus (my son calls them Colas Negras):

Crotalus scutulatus:

As you can see, the dry conditions, the high temps, and the high moon made for dainty herp totals. But still fun nonetheless! It was good visiting with all of you in Sanderson!

Hope you enjoyed!

Happy herpin'...

You forgot the barking frogs. I think I heard some calling in the vicinity of a Nissan Pathfinder.
