When picking a baby panther, is the most important descision (color wise) the father? Will the baby males look a lot like the fathers, in ther words, how much will a baby male panther vary from the way its father looks? Thanks!

Hi-

Bloodlines play an important role in pardalis locales. There are different colors with in each locale. The offspring will very much like their father. So the better the colors in the father the better the offspring will look. Hope this help!

The mother's bloodline is as equally important as the fathers. If you have a fantastic looking father, and a mother comes from a bloodlines of unspectacular colors , you'd likely get mediocre babies as well. You might ask, "but how do i know how good(apearance wise) the bloodline of a female is" ? Well, you have to look at the brother of the female. The colours of the brother is a good indication of what bloodlines the female carries. Looking at the colors of the father of the female still isn't as good as looking at the borthers'( remember, the father's genes are combined with another female).

I agree. I am still somewhat new to the cham world, but the same is true for any sexual organism and it's offspring. The mother's genes play an equal part in the offspring's chemistry....good to know her family history also.
