Wow! I've seen more posts about bad odds than I'd like to! But I have to add one more....

Last week, I had a spider to normal clutch hatch... 4 normals and 1 spider. Yesterday was a pied to 100% (supposedly) het pied... 4 hets no pieds. One clutch left to go... pastel to pastel, 3 eggs. Odds seem to be a little better on this one, I cut 'em this morning and I see one normal. The other two are very light colored, so I'm hoping supers, but it could be that they just don't have their color quite yet. Haven't seen their heads yet.

Thats the way it goes some times.
Last year I bred a Spider to normal and got 6 eggs and when they hatched they were 2.4 normals.lol

Gotta love it!!

Maybe next time you'll get all spiders.

Also good luck with the Pastel X Pastel breeding, I hope you get some supers.

If you have enough clutches the odds always even-out. Black Pastel x Normal gave me 2 BP's and 4 Normals. Butter x Normal produced 5 Butters and 2 Normals. Bee x Normal yielded 1 Bee 3 Male Pastels and 3 normals. That means that the 6 egg Butter x Spider clutch due next week will give me 4 Sputters, a Butter and a Spider lol... the Balls Gods are a fickle bunch!!!

Hi, I am not doing so hot with my odds this year either. what should be 50/50 is running more likely 70/30. Did get some really odd normals this year though. Even got some that may be het pieds as carry over from the previous years breeding. FEMALE was bred to a full pied in spring of 07 and a pastel in spring 08. 2 Babies hatched out with pied markers. If they are female I might just hang on to them.. I have produced 22 babies this year and only got 2 mojave and 5 pastels. Bummer but as they say better luck next year. Next year it may be the reverse. God Bless, Lee Van Hyfte

No supers. Definitely one normal. I THINK the other two are pastels, but I'll have to wait til they come out to be positive.
