Great looking tiger.

How big and old is he?

dadspets Jun 20, 2008 09:12 AM

He is around 2 yrs. old. I'd have to check my books to be sure. I have never measured him yet but I would say around six ft. He eats 2- 2 lb rabbits every 2 weeks. Thanks. My female is in shed so once she's out I'll snap a few shots of her.

I was considering getting a dwarf retic.
Most likely a genetic stripe.

Was just wondering the average growth of the males.

dadspets Jun 20, 2008 02:21 PM

I've read and heard the males get are 10 to 12 ft and the females around 15ft. I've also heard that genetic stripes stay smaller. Not sure though. Depending on how small you want, the super dwarfs are even smaller maxing around 6 ft. They are more money though.

Yea thats what I've heard.

I feel comfortable handling a 10-12 foot snake but probly wouldnt want to go any bigger than that.

Thats great to hear you say that. So many people take on more than they can handle some times and it can turn out to be a bad situation. Post a few pic's once you find your snake.

I've only been able to hold one snake that big which was an olive python.

I'm just starting to start getting snakes. I have a yearling boa atm and I'm looking for some more to get.

I've been reading these forums and just about any other information for about a year and half or more now. To really know what I will be getting into. Planning on buying some 5'x30" cages to keep them in another reason I'm looking for a 12 foot or smaller retic.

Plan on ordering atleast two cages in the next month or so. One for the boa I have now and another to have when I get a new snake.

Any suggestions for me as to whether or not this sounds like a good plan or not would be greatly appreciated. Because while reading and thinking I have the right answer. I'd love an opinion of someone who accually keeps these snakes has.
