My beardie is about 6" long and he's been scratching his face against some branches so I was wondering if this was a sign that he was about to shed. Also, about half his tale looks somewhat faded out compared to the rest of the body.

Sorry, I don't know how often they shed but my dragon just shed his tail and limbs and they're bright yellow while his body is a very dull color.
Normally a dragons color will turn "cloudy" prior to shedding. With babies, as yours, this may happen every couple of weeks. As dragons get older they shed less often, and usually smaller parts of their body at a time. Keep your dragon hydrated by misting or soaking and this will help with the shedding process. Chris
my guys are 18 days old and still haven't shed, will it be soon?
It really depends, most of my hatchlings go through their first shed at 3-4 weeks. Some dragons shed a bit earlier, some a bit later.....it also depends on housing, feeding, and genetics.
