A few photos from today...

East of Sanderson clutch... sired by a male I caught in May 1993. The mother was found by a friend of mine.

This is a female I collected in Pecos county in July of 1993. She's been displaying typical nesting behavior and I suspect I'll find eggs in her nest box in the morning. She doesn't look too bad for a 15 year captive huh?

Nice animals and photos, Damon. You'll have to tell us the secret(s) to which you attribute their longevity.

Two questions for you: What camera did you use, and what program did you use to create your signature/watermark on the digital image?

Great stuff!

Damon,
My 9-mile female that I caught in '93 looks like she is going to lay again this year. I keep thinking that she is on her last leg but she keeps on truckin'. She is blind in one eye and looks ready for the retirement home.

The Pecos female laid 9 perfect eggs yesterday. She was a 32" adult when I collected her in 1993. I'll see if I can't post pictures of the sire (a male I collected on the same trip in July of 1993) a little later this afternoon.

Pecos county north of Sanderson... found about 150 yards from the female. He's not as dark as she is but he's most definitely gotten darker with age.

I love the look of those dark ones. Very unusual grey bands.
