Anyone working on an Axanthic Pewter?

ExecutiveReptiles Jun 19, 2008 09:46 AM

Bored at work and my mind started drifting thinking about all the combos I have yet to see in the Ball Python World....

The Pewters look almost Axanthic when they hatch, curious what the Axanthic would do to them?...

Anyone else got combos they have thought about?

Another one I have been waiting to see is the "True Ghost" the Axanthic Ghost....thats going to be a neat one...has anyone done that yet?

I'm a ways off but it is in my future plans. I should have pastel axanthics this year and cinny het axanthics next year (I hope).

Another one I'm interested in seeing is yellowbelly axanthics and fire axanthics (mixed with other genes as well). I think they would really clean up axanthics and make them very sharp.

That would be a cool morph combo. As pewters grow they gain more and more yellow. I think this is what make them brown out. The axanthic gene would really clean them up as well. So much possibility in such an underrated morph.

I know gulf coast reptiles produced the axanthic black pastel last year so I'm sure the axanthic pewter is high on their list as well as a few more crosses with the axanthic project. The axanthic gene is on e of those that you need to have in your breeding colony to help make those more desirable crosses to supply the pet trade.

I produced Black Pastel 100% het VPI Axanthics and Blonde Pastel 100% VPI Axanthics last year....

I didn't get any females of either though...5 Black Pastel het Ax. males and 2 Blonde Pastel het Ax. males.

Black Pastel x VPI Axanthic

Blonde Pastel x VPI Axanthic
