Milky no more

swankerme Jun 19, 2008 02:50 PM

The about the past week my Desert Kingsnake has had milky eyes. I assumed it was going to molt, so I didn't feed it, made sure it had water, kept it more humid, etc. Today the snake has crystal-clear black eyes, but I can not find any skins in the cage. Is it common for the milky eyes to go away before shedding?

Yes. It should shed in the next couple days.

Yes, just as Charlie stated, they typically shed two to five days AFTER the eyes have totally cleared again, depending on their activity level, temps, etc...

When I had my big back yard, I could tell exactly when they would be ready to do so, and would sometimes let certain snakes crawl freely under my supervision and watch them shed and poop!.........but NOT necessarily in that order!..LOL!

Doug, come on, man. Knock it off. Your photos should be in textbooks, field guides, whatever. Unreal. You should be getting paid.

That's the beauty of digital photography, to me anyway! I'll go fishing for a day, take about forty pics, delete all but three or four and people go, 'wow you always take great pictures!' Uh, not exactly!
