Fetal Heart Tones

Jeff Clark Jun 19, 2008 04:23 PM

I was playing with the Doppler and found fetal heart tones in RD one of my proven females. I have not been paying too close attention but I am pretty sure she is at least 2 months away from delivering this year. If she really is that far from delivery this makes the auscultation of fetal heart tones pretty impressive. My Doppler is a 3mhz versus the 2mhz that many people on the Boa Forum have discussed. RD is enormously blowed up and should (I hope) delivery a big pile of babies. With the Doppler I found her pulse at 28 beats per minute and found steady fetal heart tones at 60 and 62 beats per minute at two locations. My Doppler like most designed for fetal heart tones will not display these low rates on the screen and so I had to listen and count the beats using my watch for timing.
