feeding dish help

trex8692 Jun 20, 2008 07:47 AM

i recently bought this small 2" by 3" dish. but there is a small problem with it.

usually bowls are lined on the inside quite smoothly as to prevent mealie escapes. this one is only lined halfway up the bowl and im afraid that the mealies will escape.

what should i do about this?

line the top with petrolium jelly or k/y. they'll slip.

even if the dish is very roughyly edged?

how much petroleum jelly should i use? (vaseline is ok correct?)

and pardon me for askingbut wat is k/y?

Petrolium Jelly is Vaseline, yes. Just line the inner rim and over the side a little with some...not too much, just enough so that they can't get their grip and slide back down. Your gecko should leave it alone. And K/Y is a gel- a water based lubricant used in doctors offices and veterinarians...

youre talking about enough to make the bowl a little shiny from the vaseline right?

for some reason i keep thinking theyll stick to the vaseline

ok thanks

i'm sure they dont mean put huge clumps of Vaseline on the sides!!! just a little bit so its slippery and not gooey. not clumps!!!! just a little....
