Red Rat Snake and Eggs

tbrock Jun 20, 2008 07:15 PM

Since I'm more of a rat snake guy than a corn nut, this is going here. This girl does her own thing come breeding season. This year, she layed 12 good eggs after 30 days gestation, while she layed 13 eggs after 60 days gestation, last year! She is also the meanest, most foul-tempered snake in my collection - beating out the Texas and black rats I used to keep! She usually gets ready for fight or flight as soon as I start opening her tub - rattling her tail and coiling for a strike. She also attacks and constricts her f/t mice! She was bred to a nice orange candycane male (same as last year), who is as mellow as a corn can be. She is het for amel, so some of the babies will be amel.

I've got a pic somewhere of my hands holding the devil corn, and multiple bite wounds. Let me get her past the post-laying shed, and you can let her chew on you if you want! LOL Her kids have typical captive bred corn dispositions, thankfully.

Uh - is the bedroll blue, and still in the package? If so, it's mine. I think I went maybe a little too prepared.

Yep, that's the one, need to hook up! I am ready for a night cruise. You better give Satan his corn back or rename the offspring (spawn) Firecorns!

Haha! The Beast don't want her back - I tried! I'll pm/call you about the cruising.

I think she is very pretty too, I just wish the disposition was better. Here is a pic of her with last year's clutch, which I think was even nicer looking.
