If not, what's the brightest Sinaloan with no black tipping? Sinaloans are definitely beautiful milksnakes; ones with no black tipping with lots of bright red are spectacular.
Thanks!

Well, although this one is far from being a Cosala, it's pretty bright red, and clean as a whistle. It's possible it could also have a tad bit of nelsoni in it's lineage as well, but it wasn't from being bred to any on purpose by a breeder, as this animal was purchased by me LONG before nelsoni was commonly known to the hobby, and lead to everyone breeding them after the discovery of the albino gene.
Additionally, there are a few hypo nelsoni, and "possibly" sinaloae, but currently Im not aware of any hypo Cosala stock animals in existence.
best regards, ~Doug

Hey Dan,
I am not aware of any hypo Cosala locales out there. There are actually a few different bloodlines in the US that were collected in Cosala. I have focused working on one particular line that seems to grow larger than the other Cosala lines and stay brighter in my opinion.
But even the best Cosalas out there have just a little bit of tipping. Its funny because the hatchlings from the bloodline I work with have some tipping and aren't especially spectacular as hatchlings, but give them 18 months - 2 years and as they put on size, they brighten up and the tipping doesn't seem to get any worse from the day they hatched. Usually its the other way around - bright as a hathling and tipping up as they get older.
Hope this helps,
Dave
That is pretty odd about them starting out "tipped", and then get better.
That seems "BASS ACKWARDS"!!!..
You KNOW what I think of those guys!.....second to NONE!..

Hey Doug - I know, it doesn't make much sense and is hard to explain. Point is they age like a good wine!
How's are all your projects this year?
Dave
Dave,.....yes!, I see some mighty fine "red wine" in that RubberMaid tub there!..LOL!
I just setup some more eggs last night, and am expecting a few more clutched soon. I'm keeping the breeding this year down to a minimum because I'm moving soon, and don't really want a ton more youngsters on top of all the other stuff I'll have to deal with regarding the move. Next year will be more productive, but I'm certainly not complaining..LOL!, as a matter of fact, I'm real happy with things.
I'm sure you have some stellar projects going to!.....are those Cosala"s dropping for you this year?
~Doug

That sounds good - sounds like you've had a good year so far. I'm sure you're moving to a place that will have a sweet snake room! If I were to move again, that would be a priority!
Yep, I have a gravid Cosala female in blue now that should drop in early July!
Take it easy man.

Yep Doug, it can happen!!
I have only one sinaloan from a pair I bought in 1994. He was the less clean one while the female was a screamer...no tipping, etc.. He was pretty but just not as clean as she was. Well, after about 2 years, by 1996, she had turned around and developed a higher than anticipated amount of tipping, and the male turned into the cleaner, less tipped, animal. I gave her away to a friend who was dying to have a sinaloan, and she went to a good home. I kept the male, and still have him to this day.
Yep, I have seen it happen!
