"Boob" Eggs

panhead Jun 21, 2008 06:41 PM

Someone posted a week or so ago asking if eggs which looked undeveloped on one end would be viable. Most people referred to them as "boob" eggs and said they were still viable. Well I had one female lay 4 boob eggs. And yes all four hatched out just fine.

This is an interesting thing.... how does one get a boob egg? ... what causes that?

My last clutch I had of double het burms a few weeks ago they hatched. I had 2 boob eggs in the clutch. One of them was actually the first snake that pipped. Not sure why this happens to an egg though.

I have one boob egg that has a weird bumpy texture. It is fertile so I hope it goes to full term. I am at day 26 and its not getting worse. It would be a shame because it was only a 3 egg clutch..
