Very gravid, hungry/aggressive boa...

mountainlyon Jun 21, 2008 07:34 PM

Very gravid hungry/aggressive boa is due any time, hasn't eaten in almost 6 weeks, now all of a sudden she's so hungry I can't spot clean or change the water without her springing out of the cage and/or striking. I'm not real sure if it's feeding behavior or aggressive, she comes out really fast for typical feeding behavior but she hovers at the door like a typical hungry boa. I shouldn't feed her should I?!? Is this likely her version of being restless because she's about to pop? Also, I can use a shield, gloves and hook if necessary, but how much should I be willing to disturb her at this point to spot clean and change the water bowl?

If there is water in the bowl, just leave her alone.

I think you have it right man. I would not feed her yet. She's getting aggressive due to the pending birth. Good luck and please keep the MB posted
