Did somebody say Motley????

rainbowsrus Jun 22, 2008 02:09 AM

Vanilla, my pos super ghost dropped her litter tonight and has proven herself a super, all the babies are hypos!! Bred by two motley males the litter is a mix of Hypo Motley's het Anery and DH Ghosts. At least 16 babies (one slug) and at 108 days are full term and looking great, will post pics tomorrow, gotta play with them for a while, most are still chillin in the nest box where they were born.

Congrats Dave! You're having a stellar year. We need Eddie to set up another get together so we can all see them in person.

Thanks Matt, definitely some really cool stuff came from my breeding projects. Not as much as I was hoping for but still, I'm very happy with the overall outcomes!!

Well, my girl Vanilla (pos super Ghost) proved super so all babies are Hypos!! Woohoo!!! Due right in the middle of my vacation, she waited until I got back to drop her babies.

So, Super Ghost x Pastel Motley.....

16 babies, only one slug

6 Hypo Pastel Motley het Anery (or is that Pastel Motley DH Ghost?)

10 Pastel DH Ghosts

as promised pics....

I gave mom a nest box and she used it, some peat moss on the bottom and some green moss on top, she laid the babies between the layers. Probably similar to in the wild, laying the babies hidden under forest litter etc.

This little baby was poking just it's nose through the moss....periscope up?

After pulling away the moss, the pile of slimers...

The Pastel DH Ghosts...

The Pastel Motley DH Ghosts, the Orangetail line really does work well with Motley for holding the Motley pattern.

Thanks for looking....

Very nice!! They look great!
That's a cool nesting box too. What sort of stuff do you use to make it? Looks like a nice comfortable place for babies to be born..

Thanks for sharing and grats!!

Alex

BoaRepublic Jun 22, 2008 09:52 PM

sorry, I see you explain what you used for the nest box

Thanks!
Alex

rainbowsrus Jun 22, 2008 10:20 PM

Thanks, glad you saw the details on the nest box.

I like to try stuff I think will be better for the animals. Not a lot of work to provide and she seemed to like it and made cleanup a breeze!!!!

Hey Dave,

That's an awesome looking litter of motleys!!! And to prove out that Vanilla was a super must be icing on the cake. Great stuff. Keep the pics coming once the first sheds are done.

Congrats again!!!

Jay

rainbowsrus Jun 23, 2008 11:28 PM

Thanks Jay, Yeah I'm pretty excited about the whole thing, and the Motleys are amazing, the orangetail influence has kept the motley pattern intact in a hypo form.
