How to use these breeders...suggestions?

VDR Jun 22, 2008 12:18 PM

My problem comes from being told that it's not a good idea to breed albino x albino.
So, I'm not sure what the best breeding use of these snakes would be.
I was thinking maybe getting a 100% DH for Snow male to put with the Albino female?
Your input and suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

My Boas are:
2002 female Albino 66% poss het for Snow
2003 Male Albino 66% poss het for Snow

2003 (Normal) Poss DH for Snow

Thanks,
Brian

An anery het albino would be a good match. Or a triple het would do well also.

Thats a good idea.....that way, any normal appearing animals would be 100% DH for Snow and it would prove if she is het Anerythristic or not.

So, breeding:
Albino poss het Anery x Anery het Albino could produce:

Albino het Anery
Anery het Albino (only if she proves to be Het Anery)
Snow (only if she proves to be Het Anery)
100% DH for Snow (Normal appearance)

Does this seem right?

They would be poss het when bred "het to het" But what You wrote down looks about rite ,besides the 100 hets some will but no telling which are. I would use a Moonglow and avoid the poss hets in the long run... I'm not sure what Moonglo's are now but if You like the snows Moonglows and Forsure hets thats the way to go. Good luck.

I'm not so sure some breeders know what there saying when telling,Albino to Albino just isn't a good choice. I've seen a few litters from these and they have been very good, some with no slugs at all.

I would get a Triple het or a Moonglow and breed him to Your Females, maybe one triple and a Moonglow male. One male just isn't going to cover all those females. There so deffernt then Ball Pythons were a male can bred 10 females a season. I'd like to have a male for every Female...
