Extreme Hypo Hondo?

Gib_one Jun 23, 2008 05:17 AM

Well i can get a male CB 07. I guess i take it because they are really rare over here. (germany).

What female would be the best? Can Extreme x Super Hypo produce Extremes? Or would a anery female better for extreme ghosts in the f2? How are the extrem genetics, is it just a simple recessive morph?

* Yes, the extreme hypo gene is a simple recessive trait, and you can possibly get some extreme's from the breeding you mentioned(extreme x Super Hypo). But be aware, it certainly doesn't necessarily mean that you WILL. This gene isn't fully understood, and you can get a wide variation of looks in any given clutch. Even an extreme x extreme doesn't guarantee that all the offspring will be extreme, but it will greatly increase the odds of doing so. You can get all sorts of varying looks within these clutches,......extremes, vanishing extremes, good looking "normal" hypos, pin-bandeds, ultra light hypos, etc...

If you get a ghost produced from an "extreme line"(meaning either parent is extreme) you will again increase your odds of later creating an "extreme ghost", but AGAIN, doesn't mean you will. The extreme gene isn't real predictable,.....but that can be part of the fun,....later seeing what pops out of the eggs!..

hope this helps a little.

Yes!! That helped a lot. And really nice pictures! Well getting a extreme ghost is impossible over here.:D I guess i will choose a regular Ghost(from hypo het. anery parents) as his future girl mate and hope for some extremes het. Anery

But i will see. I had to get my little extreme guy first, i searched for one like that around 3 years now, i m really happy about it now :D
