forgot to type the text.
this male is a hypomelanic collaris collaris.
Wow, interesting lizard, never seen a hypo before.
I assume a hypomelanistic lizard also would lack a dark peritoneum (outer lining of its "guts"
which in a normally-colored lizard would help protect its organs from UV damage.
I can't remember if collaris normally has a black peritoneum, but if so, how does a hypomelanistic sun-loving lizard cope with the higher risk of UV damage? Maybe that explains why I haven't seen one in the wild.

Hi i have him in a same enclosure as the rest of the collareds just with uv light that seem to be no problem for him.
the breeder i did buy this fellow from also use uv light and he has a group of big ones. so i think no problem.
i think you dont see them in the wild becouse of there colour as you know young collareds have red/orange colours to scare other lizzards away the hypo dont have that so he is a easy prey for other lizzards and birds.
i have a lot of bearded dragons like hypo translucent and leatherbacks that kind of morph you dont see in australia as wel but they can resist the uv light without any problems.
sorry for the bad english.
Just awesome looking, so very light, Ghost-like Casper the friendly collared,
Seriously he is really COOL, I like him very , very much. He has a look that says.......... "I'm Something Special"

The is a very interesting lizard!!! I can't wait to see him as an adult. What do his clutch mates look like? Does he have the black throat on the inside of it's mouth?
Hi it is a resesive genetic lizzard so when you do hypo to hypo you will get all hypos when you do hypo to hets hypo you will get 50% hypo and 50% het hypo lizzards.
in the clutch where to types the hypo's and the hetrozygoot lizzards the hetrozygoot lizzards look normal.
this is a smal adult hetrozygoot female.

the inside of his troath is only pink i see no black inside
I think he is more than hypomelanistic, If he was just hypomelanistic he would still have the greens and yellows as these pigments aren't determined by melanophores, yellow is determined by xanthophores and green by iridiphores. I think he is a leucistic collared. I saw a new clutch of these on a european website a few months back. Absolutely stunning, this is a beautiful lizard.
