Never ceases to amaze me ...

what they can eat.

Some of you may remember that 14" WC pac gopher I found in March.
He's just about 19 inches now, and was 60 grams on the 17th (last shed) - I've been feeding him two hoppers a meal, he doesn't take f/t so I'm at the mercy of the pet store.

They were out of live hoppers so I bought a single weanling, not sure if he could handle it, but I thought I'd give him a chance. I thought he probably could but that it would take him awhile.

Not only did he wolf that sucker down, he was wondering where his usual second meal was.

I think two weanlings might have been regurge risky, but I bet by his next shed they won't be.

I bet if you give it a wide enough thermal gradient
digest them no problem.

Cool story. These snakes are chow hogs. That's one of many things I love about them. Not a pacific, but this little '06 female annectens from the Beverly Hills area is regular mouse wrecker too.
