Scared little gecko?

Kuitsuku Jun 24, 2008 07:11 PM

Even though I've had my little girl for about 3 months, she's still petrified of me or anyone else. She's fat and healthy but rarely ever comes out of her little house.
Recently she's been urinating or defecating on my hand after having her out for a few minutes. She'll sit still for a few minutes, then try to run away, and when I catch her she'll sit still again, then urinate and make a run for it. I've not heard of this behavior before, is it common? She's never dropped her tail, just seems to be a very anti-social gecko. I have another female who acts the complete opposite and actually runs to my hand to get out of the cage.
Her droppings are healthy looking and she doesn't do this every time I take her out, but it's still common.

Here are some recent pictures:

your gecko looks healthy and a happy gecko is rarely seen. Some are jumpy but generally grow out of it if they are handled briefly and periodically

I have a female who acts the exact same way, but she bites as well. I couldn't tell you if it's a common characteristic or if it only happens to a handfull. But anyway, I'd like to know also...anyone else ever have the same problem?
