Just a cool Observation

Argentines Jun 24, 2008 09:28 PM

I keep my snakes in a side room built off my living room. And while i dont believe in power feeding my snakes i kind of let their activity dictate when i feed them. I keep records of everything so i know when they will start cruising there tanks for food. I defrost rats in warm water in a totally different room and its just kind of cool how my female Argy will be hangin out under her hide but 20 min later when i come in to feed the small rats to the others just laying around, shes like OK game on where is my food? She races up and down her cage watching every move i make. She pics up on the sent like 5-10 mins after i take em out of 1 ziplock and put them into another. The rats are out for a whole 10 seconds. I just like to poke my head in and watch her come to life. Any ways just thought id share that with you guys/gals. I get a kick out of it.

Their sense of smell is really impressive.

On feeding day, when I get to my apartment I race to the
balconey & leave the rats out there. I'm only in the apartment
for a few seconds with the rats, but when I get back inside they
are ALL looking at me waiting for those cage doors to open...
