what up with all the Paradox

albinorosy Jun 25, 2008 11:40 AM

It seems like we are seeing an unusually large number of paradox born this year. Any specualtions as to why?

Because numbers of litters per year has increased exponentially in the past 10 years. I also believe it may be Polygenic, which is why no one has been consistant in producing them.

And even if it is polygenic, those same genes are "in the Albino gene pool" so are being propogated as well.

Have any Paradox X Paradox breedings been done? If so, were there any paradox in the offspring?

And those are only the breeders

I had 2 awesome ones this year, it seems like certain boas carry the gene for the paradox boas.

after I had three in a litter this season. I started searching for information on them. Someone from this forum steered me to D&M's website. It looks as though he may be sitting on something. Maybe he has the keys or the answers we(or at least I) have been looking for. Thanks. Mike Panichi

Pretty good topic you brought up cause I just produced a paradox this year, and I was thinking the same about the genetics. I'm thinking about doing the same breeding this coming season. I produced a paradox with a dh sunglow male from Chris Nicolas stock and a het albino female from Millenium Morph stock. I produced a female paradox this season hopefully I can produce another one and it be a male so in 3 years I can breed them together and see what the outcome is. If I don't produce a paradox this season I'll just breed the female I have to her dad.
