My First Hondo Clutch

wmcandrew Jun 25, 2008 06:24 PM

I was cleaning cages this morning and when I got to this girls she was in her nest box with her tail raised about to pop her first egg out. I videotaped the third egg and its pretty cool because you can see the contractions as the egg moves down her body and finally out of her tail. She started laying around 1 today and it’s about 5:30 and she has laid 4 eggs so far. Last time I checked her I felt 7-8 eggs inside so I'll keep my fingers crossed. She is Anrey het for Albino who was bred with an Anrey het for albino. This is my first time breeding Hondo's and it looks like a success! I will post a new pic when she is done laying.

Yep, about 25% should be snow and the rest will be anery possible het amel 66%. really 25% will be just anery and 50% will be het amel but you won't be able to tell by looking at them.
A better match is to have one amel het anery and one anery het amel. Then you know exactly what you have when they hatch.I like this with the 2 other combos as well.Leaves out any possible hets.
Then you get into triple hets and thats another story.LOL....And throw in the Mega gene and its really fun now.
Next year I will be breeding all kinds of triple animals from Terry's mega line.It will be really fun to watch them hatch thats for sure.Shoot it will be fun this year with the four or five clutches from Mega stuff I have cooking.

She laid 8 nice eggs. She started at 1pm and laid her last egg around 10 pm. That's a lot of work haha.
