Wow, Patsy, the Three-toed looks great! You've done a wonderful job pulling that one through.

The darker one is from the Florida, right?

Thanks Ken. How are the 2 big bullies? have you decided if they are 3toed or of mixed parentage?

>>The darker one is from the Florida, right?
I don't know. It is noticeably darker than the ones from last year. I did not see these eggs laid. Out of 4 found, only 1 made it to hatching. It seemed to be 2 clutches of 2 eggs. So, maybe Arrigato and the Florida both laid.

I left the Florida eggs (that I saw laid) in place and the place was too dry. I have been working on changing the pen a bit since getting back home. (Even though I keep saying NO MORE!)

This hatchling came out (I was in Ireland) about the same time as I had expected the outside Florida eggs to hatch. How close, timewise, can a female lay batches of eggs?

Again, thanks. Your praise is not only appreciated, but gives me hope for the future of these guys...

Sorry, Patsy...I've been crazy busy.

I've had females lay at two weeks apart. For most others, it's usually about a month.

I really, really, really need to send you pictures of the two baby "Hawaiian" Three-toes. One of them is getting a stunning amount of orange on the head and even on the shell. It is really amazing considering most Three-toes are very drab, especially at a young age.

This is my first real, long time participation in an online forum before. Funny how much your (and Ken's) praise makes me feel proud.

Thanks.
