Thanks Lar, 11 is very photogenic and I think those pics came out very nice. I took pics of each baby when I found they had their second shed, so of course on different days and at different times.

More pics of her....

She is a nice look'n gal ! Amazing how your different photo techniques affect the look of the Boa in the photos. I've noticed this before with your comparison type shots of the same Boa two distinct photo styles or lighting. Its nice that you do it that way I like the technique.

The reality is that occurs with ALL pics of anything. Lighting and angles always affect how the pic comes out. Most people take several and pick out the one that looks best. I like to show the different pics to get an overall feel of how the lighting affects the color, really drastic with the Salmons. Most of my pics are in the same location simply with and without flash.

rainbowsrus Jun 26, 2008 02:55 PM

Thanks Shane, IMO there are gonna be several stunners out of that group. It's all in the genetics of the parents, each an outstanding specimen in their own ways!!

Each one looks like a different work of art, wish I could get any of mine to behave on picture day. What kind of camera did you use?
Thanks for sharing
Joel Thomas

rainbowsrus Jun 26, 2008 03:03 PM

That's one of the reasons I love this hobby, each one IS a individual work of art!!!

I use a Canon EOS 20D.

For pics I take most indoors on my workbench in the snakeroom. I have various size bowls I place over uncooperating snakes to get the to settle into a nice lump. Pull off the bowl and snap away....quickly!!!!

People are often compelled to get the darkest reddest Hypos as babies. These make for the darkest, but not nearly as attractive adults. The same thing is true of Pastels. The dark red color doesn't matter if you making anything Albinos though, but if you are still going to see some black, I'll always opt for the light colored animal with the great color. That one will make for some great photographs as a 4-6' adult!

They look great!

The best part about living so close to you is that I get to see those puppies in person.

The color on #1 and #5 is just out of this world. Awesome looking babies, even the non-hypos look super nice.
