Thayeri Question

Joe_M Jun 26, 2008 12:09 PM

There have been some great photos of different thayeri posted recently. Is there a page available that discusses the genetics of the different phases or can someone give the "cliff notes" version? I have read on a breeder's website that it is possible to obtain all three phases within the same clutch. Thanks.

I really like that Web site listed in the SPONSORS section at the top of this main forum page. Go to Sierraherps dot com and check out the natural history section relating to thayeri.

do a search for Robert Hansen as he has a really nice and very informative web site covering thayeri. Basically you've got:
melanistic / leonis / and milk snake phase and when you breed any of the three together you will typically get a wide variety of the three with melanistic being the hardest to reporduce consistently.

Russ,
I found stuff on Robert Hansen the serial killer and Robert Hansen the former FBI agent and convicted spy, but no Robert Hansen snake guy. Any idea where his site might be? I'm interested in thayeri also.
