I love these odds: 9 eggs = seven Mystics two normals.

Mystics are the same thing as phantoms, right?
It's tough to keep track sometimes with people having different names for lines.

I believe that the Mystic is another line of Phantom, however until someone breeds Mystic to Mystic and produces a super form that is identical to the Super Phantom we must stick with the name Mystic. At this point it looks like next year will be the first possiblity for a Mystic to Mystic clutch.

Hope this helps,
Dan

Dan, Nice odds!! Congrats. Could you possibly post a couple belly shots from the clutch.. I have a male who I'm trying to prove if he ever starts breeding. He has all the markers and "that look" about him.. But I haven't seen a belly shot of a proven Mystic/Phantom. I would appreciate any insight you could provide. Did you get your breeeder from Anthony?

Hi Bill,

Here's your belly shot. For the most part they're pretty clean.

I got my breeding male from Anthony. He was kind enough to send me photos of some of the Mystic offspring he had produced. I looked at every photo of every Phantom I could find and felt like it was a pretty good bet that the two are one and the same morph.

Best of luck with your male.

Thanks Dan. Similar to my guy. I have had pretty good luck with youger males breeding this season. My pos Phantom is NOT one of them. I'm considering feding him 2-3 times per week to get his 700 grams up to 1200 and try him in the fall. Thanks again for the pics.

This Mystic originated from who?

I have a female that i hope will prove out next year.

Tell me what you guys think.............

The Mystic was named by Anthony McCain. He started with an imported African hatched male.

Your snake has some Phantomish characteristics, however I've never seen one where the blushing goes clear over the spine (not that it couldn't happen - they do seem to be pretty variable).

Best of Luck,
Dan

pitoon Jun 26, 2008 06:27 PM

exactly....she has some look to her, that's why i grabbed her up in a heartbeat, lol!

she's also an African Hatched straight from the motherland.

if she proves out i have a sweet name picked out for her.

...until someone hatches a Mystic with more 'gaps' in its dorsal pattern.
When that happens I'm sure we'll see some blushing across its spine...

(Like the brownback Cinnys VS the Cinnys with dorsal pattern..
Or brownback Mojaves..
Or brownback Lessers..)

Congrats on the Mystic clutch.
Any Mystic crosses you're expecting this year??

Very Nice clutch Dan!! I told you he'd do well for you.. Keep in touch with the crosses this year , hopefully should have something cool line up , I missed the Pastel Mystic last year and am trying for it this year again.. I think the ones who laughed at the Mystic project will be kicking themselves in about a year, maybe less depending on what this year brings! Later, Anthony McCain...
