What does this look like to you?

montym Jun 26, 2008 02:22 PM

I was floored to see this boa in a new litter. This was produced by a friend of mine and there was another one with a little less striping than this one. We feel this one may not survive though, as it does not look as healthy as the rest of the litter. Let me know what you think.

Pretty similar to the Roswell, but the head appears more normal in shape/pattern. He/she definitely looks dried out and pretty crinkly. Hope it pulls through, that's an awesome looking boa.

The Roswell's were produced from CBB babies that Heather got from someone. Half suriname het albino if memory serves. The breeder clearly was selling possible hets and now it looks like two colonies have proved out their hets!

Heather I may still have a buyer for a roswell if you are ready to sell.

He said it was from a salmon x albino though, not poss./het albinos, so it may be a totally seperate deal. Guess you'd have to know the history on all the animals involved.

and owning 9 of the laddertails, I can tell you that is definitely not a Roswell. There are VERY distinct markings on the Roswells and the Laddertail siblings that this baby does not possess. It looks more like a selectively bred reverse stripe and an EXTREMELY nice one at that.

Technically I only own 7 laddertails at this point. But a few of those are getting sucked into a black hole.

Do you hear that giant sucking sound? Actually it's a gravitational pull. Feel it Jason!?

Can you please explain what the correlation is with the Laddertails and the Roswell boas?

Rainshadow Jun 26, 2008 03:37 PM

They're not all that common, but do pop up from time to time.this is one that I produced this year.(hope the pic shows?)though I've seen a few "almost complete" stillborn in previous litters, this one seems to be as strong, and robust as any of its siblings(luckily!)she's also a probable super,(visually I'm 99% sure, but ya never really know unless both parents were homozygous.)I sure hope that one in your post survives! it's a killer for sure!!!

I see more BCC influence in the roswells, that looks pure BCI to
my untrained eyes...
