I will have to show the pic to my female climac so she sees it can be done. My female drops between 5 and 7 eggs in her clutches. Thanks for sharing and congrats on the new additions.
I can't take any of the credit (not that I could anyway) because I bought the pair at the Raleigh show, female gravid and ready to lay. Dennis Mountain gets all the "props" for prebreeding conditioning, etc. I was excited by such a large clutch. I was going to breed her again this year, but might hold off now. Two eggs are definately not good, but I ain't complainin'.
Well, this is sort of a bittersweet response from me. Congrats on the clutch, you are very lucky. The sad part is, I had been trying to get that pair from Dennis for about 3 years now. I was coming Sunday to finally pick them up...but ya beat me to them.
Congrats though...if you ever wanna move them out...look me up first! lol
Conrad,
Dennis told me that they were probably going to sell Sunday but they were on his table. I was under the impression that they were a nasty species and was less than enthused until he took out and handed me the male. I was sold. Calmer and less head shy than any of my milks and even corns. Well, black milks not withstanding; but they are a delightful animal. And really beautiful. I hate to see Dennis get out of breeding. He had exceptional animals. I don't know if you'd be interested in hatchlings, but I should have quite a few. I expect to hang on to these for a long time. Maybe as my collection grows and the "newness" wears off and I drift into other projects, though... I'd love to talk with you sometime about breeding, etc. I assume you are in the NC area. Shoot me an Email.
