I have spent a good deal of time in the Brushy's looking for them, but haven't turn one up yet. My wife found "a baby corn snake" under a rock a few weeks ago that escaped down a hole before I got there. I believe an eastern milk is more likely than a corn in that area.
I did manage to find a mole king at the foot of the Brushy's this spring and a couple of scarlet snakes in April '07. I'm attaching a photo of one of the scarlets.
I'm just a couple of counties away (Catawba) if you ever want to meet up. I would love to see some of those crazy hondos in person.
