Nervously waiting

Jordanang420 Jun 28, 2008 12:38 AM

As stated before, I have been incubating at about 90 deg... with a minor fluctuation here and there due to a power outage one day (thank god I live in Florida and was able to get them outside to around 86 deg.) and my a/c being broken (still) but so far I believe I have done a pretty good job of keeping the temp. quite stable...Anyways, the eggs are 29 days in today...When I candle them they are obviously pink (one more than the other) and tons of little veins everywhere. I'm pretty sure there's more each time I look. But I hear about eggs being "blacked out" around 30 days, and mine don't look dark...they still look fertile though. The veins are darker and more prominent. And there is no mold or denting on either, only some translucency which I corrected (due to too much moisture in perlite) Am I still okay? And do the eggs always get larger before hatching? They haven't yet.How am I gonna know if it stops growing? Shouldn't I be seeing some type of movement inside the egg by now if the baby is alive? I'm really nervous, as I am new at this. I really wanted this clutch to hatch. This year was tough in general for me and it would be a blessing to have a brand new baby soon!

It is good for the eggs to candle red. I have had several eggs that hatched, and yet was unable to see anything but red inside when candled.
As for the egg growing, Yes they usually do. Some don't do it till almost time to hatch though.
Most of the eggs that I have inducbated at 88-90 have hatched at 35-41 days.
I know it is very, very hard to wait for them to hatch, but I wish you the best.
