I LOVE Animal Plastics...I use their racks for babies/juvies/subadults, and the T-10 4' cages for adults. AP makes a nice cage for the price, and in my experience they have top-notch customer service to boot.

Thanks for the reply...I was thinking strongly about getting the T10 for my male borneo ...I was wondering if you would suggest the built in belly heat option or do you just use heat tape? Also is there much difficulty assembling the enclosure? Thanks for your help and by the way that wall of T10's full of Bloods is just AWESOME!

Many of mine have the built-in heat cable, but I prefer heat tape and have spoken to Mark @ AP about using 11" heat tape instead. Drop him a line to discuss your options...I'm going with the heat tape on my next round of cages.

The enclosures are very easy to assemble...my other half likes to joke that they're "easy enough that a girl can do it"...I just laugh & sic one of my big bloods on him. Seriously though, I have multiple cages & racks from AP & every single one has been a breeze to put together. On the T-10's I use All Glass brand aquarium silicone to seal around the interior edges, and it lasts a long time & does a great job.

Thanks for the kind words!

Kara

AP cages used here as well, wit hbelly heat. These cages rock!

I use both AP and Vision. I really like the look of the AP T-10 cages for my home use. Visions are great for hauling to education shows which the AP cages aren't as durable for. With that said, I love my AP racks and cages and am working to switch over to them. They assemble very easily and the gang at AP are very helpful. I had a custom pedestal made to stack four T-10's on and really love the look. Also I did go with 11" heat tape and I love it. With a 75F background room temp, the cages are 80F with a hot spot on one end of around 92F surface temperature. Humidity is well contained with a large Van Ness crock in the enclosure. I plan on getting more once I finish messing around with my room!

large adult caging i like boaphiles (421D). i like the large front opening door as well.

small adult caging, i use animal plastic Sterilite 1860/1960 Series - http://apcages.com/Sterilite/1960.htm

As far as adults, If i had it to do over again, i would seriously think about going w/ the AP ve-175's - http://apcages.com/new.htm

but i cant go back in time...and i am happy w/ the boaphiles.

on the boaphiles i use 11" flexwatt that i wired myself. the Sterlite 1860/1960 rack uses dual 11" heat tape on each side of the rear rack, and I really like this feature.

I use to have vision caging and I hated them. They did not seem to hold humidity very well. As rich said, they are great display cages, and they are crazy lightweight.

The Boaphile cages are my choice. I would like them a little higher then 12" but I think 17" is to high. hmmmm regardless I have no other complaints. I have one vison cage thats not to bad but i'll stick with Boaphile. aside from that I also use a herpstat pro to run the heat tape through and it is awesome. many thanks

I would love to hear anyone opinions on these cages. I was looking at those. It seems I can get a few more in the room that with cages and the price seems comparable.

This is a pretty old thread, but I use VE175's in an Animal Plastics Rack and love them. It's a great way to hold 5 bloods in a relatively small area but still give them the needed area to roam.

I have to agree on the humidity aspect. I love visions as display cages for educational events, but I notice in winter, I need to add a damp towel over the screening for my bloods.
