Egg Bound Female? Advice Please!

kennny Jun 29, 2008 02:57 AM

Hi Everyone,

I'm getting a little worried about my female, she laid an egg yesterday (day 37) 24 hours have passed and she hasn't laid any more, how worried should I be and is there any thing I can do to help her?

Any advice would be greatfully received, Kenny.

She may have laid an infertile egg just to get rid of it and may still lay a clutch soon. After a couple more days go by then you should be concerned.

I know how you are.....all of the people in here do it......peek peek peek peek....the snakes all say the same thing.....let me the heck alone man......

I don't ever go to the vet....

I have left them be for weeks.....then aspirated when I knew they needed help......colubrids....

I only ever had one ball with troubles......2 years in a row.....the first year the egg was stuck up high so I just waited and waited......got it out somehow,,,I forget if it was me or her......the second year she had to be aspirated for an egg? I think one......she died soon after.........obviously she had issues female wise......her daughter did too......but not bad......

.balls are good at getting them out...

they do lay duds in advance and after clutches (colubrids).....

.let her go a few days........how many days since her pre-lay shed has it been?? and what temp is she at.?....(belly temp/cage floor temp....

Hi! she had her prelay shed on the 22 of May so todays day 39, I usually keep her hot end at the low 90's as she's more responsive to feeding in that range.

I just went to get check her temprature but she's layed another egg! so hopefully she should pass the the rest or most. I was worried she would'nt pass any more and die from some kind of infection.
