...roughtly 18 months of age and 800 grams. Some males can go sooner but make sure you animal is healthy and of size as many go off feed when breeding.

I heard on reptile radio they had a 350g 4 month old male breed for them

Hello, In the past I've had several male ball python mutations breeding in about 6-7 months at about 550-600 grams and produce viable babies. Having said that if I had the chance to do it again I'd pass. In hind sight I can tell you in the long run it's not worth doing. The reasons being are many and all those who said its best not to breed them young are 100% correct. Just say no. Andrew

you said in the long run its not worth it, could you go into further detail on why you feel that way?

Yes, males can breed very young as it's been said but the most important thing is that the male continues to eat for awhile while breeding. When he comes off feed then you must watch him carefully so that he doesn't lose too much weight or overwork himself.
